Carlita Pederson Music Education Scholarship
Carlita Pederson was a respected Kansas music educator for more than 30 years, earning Master Teacher of the Year and Kansas Teacher of the Year honors and being inducted into the KMEA Hall of Fame after her death in 2023. The Carlita Pederson Music Education Scholarship supports graduating seniors entering post-secondary music programs and current music education students, with applications due April 1.

The Horton, KS Fish and Game Association Norman Ross Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 2023, honors founding member Norman Ross and supports students pursuing education aligned with the association’s outdoor and conservation mission. The $1,000 scholarship is available to graduating Horton High School seniors (minimum 2.5 GPA) who submit a complete application, transcript, proof of Hunter’s Education, and apply by April 10, 2026.

The Pottroff and Logan – Shop Door Scholarship Fund, established in 2021, honors Larry Pottroff and Jay Logan for their combined 65 years teaching hands-on shop skills at Horton High School. The fund supports seniors who have taken at least two semesters of “The Shop” and plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university, or vocational school. Up to two $1,000 scholarships are available for 2026, with applications due April 15, 2026 to Horton High School Counselor Steve Stallbaumer.
